This jewelry is designed and produced in a group of nearly 80 artisans in sprawling urban Old Delhi, where they delicately bend, etch, bead and polish jewelry from stones, glass, up-cycled metal and wires, seeds and other materials. Many of the artists go on to create other handcrafted products as well. Their skills have been handed down to them over the generations from their ancestors who were master jewelers.In 2009 the group formed a partnership with a fair trade organization.
