Worked on Leather Sofa
I just got a new leather reclining sofa to replace an upholstered sofa that had ends damaged by scratching. This leather sofa seats extend past the arms in front all the way to the edge of the corner, so when they are fully reclined, they split the corner as they go up. (Photos attached.) That means that a pre-formed corner protector like JUMBL doesn't work. We needed a flat protector option. These Furniture Defender Guards work great. There is top stitching on the edge of the leather, and I was able to position the corkscrew tacks to push in between stitches on one edge, so there are no new holes. (It was a very difficult project to make that work -- the tacks did not go easily into the holes between stitches, but I used a pair of needle nosed pliers to carefully force the corkscrew backs in.) To affix the other side of the protector, I used "XFasten Double Sided Tape Acrylic Mounting Tape Removable, 1-Inch x 60-Inch" available on Amazon. That tape is clear, very sticky, and removes nicely from the leather without leaving residue. It does show through the protector, but holds firmly. This is not invisible, and not a perfect solution, but a million times better than leaving the beautiful sofa exposed to cat damage. Its a visual compromise I can accept, especially after looking at our previous sofa end - shredded to the foam!I read the review about DIY-ing this by buying yards of vinyl and cutting it yourself. For me, having the clean, perfect edges and well rounded corners with the pre-cut holes was worth the cost. The project was still time intensive for me because of the challenge of inserting the tacks between the leather top-stitches. The time I saved by having these parts neatly prepared and delivered to my door (in thoughtful, responsible packaging) was worth the money to me.

Glad I have Them
These are easy to use and easy to install. They blend nicely with the furniture legs and I even cut one for an odd corner on the couch. They are quality material. You are given plenty of pegs to attach so if one breaks or gets stepped on you will not have a problem. I saved my pegs in case I want to move them to a new furniture later. And while they are a tad shiny, I say they are a pretty good solution. I have tried the peel on ones before and been disappointed. These are such better quality and durability and they went on very smoothly (no wrinkles). I'd buy more - that darn cat better not move to another piece of furniture but if she does, I'll definitely buy more. FYI - You need padded (these are not for wood or metal) but then again cats don't seem to scratch metal chair legs.

Great Almost Perfect.
TLDR: Good at helping to teach. Don’t forget your couch has four sides. You only get two protectors.Obviously, it is almost impossible to stop a cat from doing what they naturally want/need to do. Our cat really enjoyed clawing only the corner of our couch for some reason even with all his other scratching posts we give him. Got this product, and while we hate having the look of plastic on our furniture, works perfectly. Our cat tried once or twice before realizing that he couldn’t scratch there anymore. We still need to buy more for the back of the couch..

Difficult to Install
I found these difficult to apply. It is very difficult to see the tiny holes in the clear plastic, through which you have to insert the screws. It took me several tries to get each one in. If you are going to bend them around both sides of the arms of a sofa, you won't be able to cover as much area as you might like because they are not that wide.

you could do this yourself but I bet you didn't think of it and if you are like me, you might get to it eventually
This works!!! I have three cats with several scratching posts which they use regularly but one cat was determine to use my two new chairs. I tried a spray to deter the scratching, I tried those crunchy silver type covers/blankets to deter the scratching. I tried making a loud noise when he is scratching too. I can't be around 100% of the time to be the cat scratch police and nothing was working....until now. OK, some of the reviews said they were pricey but given I had already spent much more money on things that didn't work, I think the results are worth the investment. Yes, you could do this yourself but I bet you didn't think of it and if you are like me, you might get to it eventually. Also, I don't know where anyone would find the spiral pins used for securing the plastic to the furniture. My cat has not gone near my chairs and I don't have to worry when I'm gone or police things when I'm home. Such a huge sense of relief that something works. The only small downside, which is not enough to change my 5 star review, is my chair's arms are scratched in the front of the arm, not the corner. The chairs have a slight curve to the design of the arm and the plastic doesn't mold perfectly to the shape of my chair but I can trim it, which I haven't done, or live with it --- which I am. I've had people over and had to point out what I did and many people have the same problem. My friend took pictures of my furniture and the listing of it on Amazon to give to his daughter who has a scratcher too. Oh, and the multiple sizes are great too.

Great solution for furniture protection
Great product. I’ve used a tape version of this kind of product and although it did deter my cat from clawing on my upholstered furniture, the tape looked dirty after several months. This non-stick product works well. It’s a very nice quality, flexible plastic. There are plenty of upholstery, screw-in pins to hold it securely in place. It’s also not as glaringly noticeable as I thought it would be. I’d much rather see smooth plastic on my furniture that tons of snags and damage from my cat...who does have several scratching posts, uses them, but still was attacking my couch. These are a worthwhile prevention. I ordered more after I received my first shipment. No, they’re not inexpensive, but buying new furniture would be more so. You could easily trim these to fit.
