Great home projector at a good mid point price
Keep an eye on this as they do drop the price from time to time (at the time of this review - Oct 2018 - price dropped to £248). Absolutely brilliant for home use - bright, sharp images, excellent sound from Harman/Kardon speakers, compact remote control, rechargeable battery with good battery life, completely portable projector. So glad I purchased this rather than cheaper models - this is simply an excellent product for the price. For Apple users, get the official certified lightning to HDMI adapter (see my separate review) - bite the bullet and fork out £50 for it as no other adapter will work. Once you get it, it connects and streams seamlessly from iPhone and iPad. As at end of October 2018, I’ve streamed Netflix, Amazon Prime, BT Sport, Apple TV, BBC iPlayer, YouTube plus loads of other apps. As another reviewer has said, Sky Go does not stream due to licensing restrictions.Only slight cons I feel worth mentioning:- there is a bit of light bleed around the edges of the projector- some people may find the fan slightly noisy (although I find that once the audio is playing, it’s not that noticeable)- the stand doesn’t quite stand true so you may need to adjust itNone of the above mentioned cons materially change the experience for me - the overall quality and functionality of the product at this price is amazing.

This product is so good, I bought it twice
This product is so good, I bought it twice. I broke my first one through stupidity and negligence, note to all purchasers, don't place it anywhere that it may fall several metres onto gravel. My second one has been just as good as the first and it hasn't fallen off my window sill (yet). I've seen a lot of other reviews complaining about the inbuilt software, screencasting and Bluetooth issues. I can assure you these reviewers are just not trying hard enough to solve their own problems. Get yourself a Firestick or just get a HDMI cable and plug the projector in to your laptop/phone/Switch/anything else portable. It's a display device, not a computer. You can't expect this thing to browse the web, pull up applications, download and update softwares. It DOES all those things, but not very well. Plug in a device that can do those things PROPERLY and you'll find yourself enjoying your purchase a lot more. I project mine onto my bedroom ceiling and I lie in bed playing games and watching movies. In the past I've taken it camping and done a similar thing on the ceiling of my tent. A power bank with the right adapter solves the problem of tents not having plug sockets in them. A full battery will last 8+ hours on Eco mode, and about 5 on full brightness mode. That's plenty of time for a couple of movies if traveling with it. The screencasting is so unbelievably easy, it's a 3 step job and it tells you how to do it on the display. I've only ever run into problems when my internet is bad and that's not the projector's fault. There can sometimes be a bit of audio lag when screencasting but it's never more than a 1 second delay. I have a high end PC with a 4k monitor and yet I still spend more time watching/playing on my projector because of the comfort and portability. It is easily my favourite piece of technology I own. With a couple of other cheap purchases, you can maximize the potential of this product fully but even without those purchases, it is a great product if you are persistent enough to navigate the inbuilt software. And let's be honest, if you're in the market for a portable projector, a tricky UI is probably the only inconvenience you'll face all week

Nifty little gadget that becomes not nifty fairly quickly.
First off, am I chuffed to have a nice little projector gadget that’s turned my bedroom into a cinema - yes! Am I also gutted it’s turned out to be a bit more of a faff than I’d anticipated - also yes. I got the projector on a Black Friday deal for £165.. so based on that the brightness and picture quality is absolutely great. The sound is also fine, if you’re on your own, as soon as you have a few other people around and a bit of background noise I can imagine you’d want to turn it up a notch but can’t. How I hoped it would work is that I’d just hitch my phone up to it over Bluetooth and airplay and off you go - no wires. The phone connects fine to the projector.. but in my experience airplay lags the sound/images and you end up constantly downgrading the playback quality. First upgrade - £50 for a lightening to AVI connect for my phone. Not the projector’s fault. Then I hoped to Bluetooth a speaker to it to beef the sound up. The Bluetooth connects to the projector but then you can’t play images at the same time? You can download a limited selection of apps from the software - Netflix, iPlayer etc, but you’ll need to connect a mouse to the projector to click and select. Sky Go is not an option and from phone/ipad will NOT be playable over mirroring.. purchased yet another cable, thunderbolt to HDMI for my laptop. Now I can connect the speaker to my laptop and ‘Sky Go’ from there. So I have everything set up how I like it.. but what started as a portable, pocket sized gadget now has more cables and gizmos attached than a fairground!! I’d intended to use it as a space saving, energy saving TV replacement on my narrow boat, but now will be charging the surplus gadgets as well so it’s not quite worked as intended. However, the charge lasts about 1.5 hours. So if you are a Netflix user, or have a fire stick etc. and want it for occasional use such as when camping, you’ll be able to travel much lighter. As said, maybe I was expecting too much and should have done my homework on streaming limitations a bit better, but just so you don’t hit the same issues!! Regardless I’ll be keeping the projector and enjoying using it.
