Son of the Dawn: Ghosts of the Shadow Market, Book 1

I loved this story, as I have loved all l of the Shadowhunter books! I truly hope there will be more of these stories coming!!

Great short story telling how Jace arrived at the institute is New York and became part of the Lightwood family. This back story added more depthto other people; did not expect a few POV’s that added to the overall story for me. The bonus material had again an unexpected POV but was well done and made sense completely and was perfect once yoj realized what back story it was. Laughed with delight over the silly parts and had an answer for a question from book one of TMI that I had thought about thinking but how she get that? Also I see why it was not considered the first time a certain couple met.I do not normally like short stories at all. Tue fact this was a back story and added depth and information to the series made it so different.

Can I even express how excited I was for this story? I think not. But I'll try.This was a long awaited short story on things we as fans wanted to know but never got to in the main series. It's well written of course and perfectly paced. The characters stand out and apart from each other while still sharing those bonds we're used to seeing in the Shadowhunters world. Without giving too much away this is one I'd recommend to any fan- new or old. It gives only minor things away about the main series books and gives a good overview of the characters in them while keeping to a fresh storyline. In short, it's one I'll read again, as fast and in one go, as I did the first time.

I am glad Clare is going back to the beginning and explaining more of the Shadow Hunters series. More information about Jen/Brother Zachariah and more on how Jace was raised before and after he became part of the Lightwood’s family.

Son of the Dawn was fabulous! It made me miss Raphael and Will and Jem, and it was fun seeing Jace, Izzy, and Alec meet and interact with each other. Lily's names for Jem were PURE GOLD! It was nice to read something in Jem's P.O.V. and I didn't know that Lily was in love with Raphael. Also, the bonus material where we see Jace ingest a fairy scone and run naked through the streets of New York with antlers on his head, like he alluded to Clary in City of Bones, was magical. Magnus' cameo was also great. I can't wait for Cast Long Shadows and the rest of the series.

I really loved this first story! It really is great to get these little back stories, especially from my favorite characters! The only thing that I observed is brother Zachariah, he mentions in the original Mortal Instruments series that if only he’d seen Jace before he would have known he was a Herondale! Yet we find out in this story that he did! He does have a moment when he thinks Jace is familiar but still, you had it wrong brother Zachariah! You DID meet before and didn’t come to the conclusion!

I love all of Cassandra Clare’s books. She is a phenomenal writer but I felt like this left me extremely sad. There was too much left unsaid, not to mention it was only a couple of pages long. I really miss reading her books and December cannot get here quick enough. I wish someone would have written that this was just a short story 😢

I enjoyed spending time with characters I love in Son of the Dawn. It didn’t disappoint. My favorite series of Cassandra Claire’s is The Infernal Devices. However, the Dark Artifaces surprised me in the second installment, Lord of Shadows, and I will have to wait for the final installment to see if The Infernal Devices holds its spot. I honestly don’t think it can be beat. I don’t want to give any spoilers, so if you like any of the Shadowhunter series you will enjoy Son of the Dawn for sure.

I am very biased when it comes to Cassandra Clare. She revived my love for reading. This short story was amazing as ever. I have and will continue to read anything and everything she writes.If you love shadowhunters, Angel's, demons, romance, violence, etc.. these books are for you!

Excellente nouvelle qui nous apprend pas mal de choses sur certains personnages. On y voit la détresse de Frère Zachariah qui se bat de toutes ses forces afin de ne pas se laisser submerger, perdre ses émotions et devenir un Frère Silencieux à part entière, missionné par Raphaël et Lily afin de les aider à anéantir une nouvelle menace. Lily m'a fait hurler de rire avec tous les surnoms et jeux de mots qu'elle a sorti sur Frère Zachariah! Ensuite, nous avons le petit Jace, qui arrive dans une toute nouvelle famille si différente de tout ce qu'il a connu jusqu'alors, ainsi qu'un bonus se passant peu de temps avant le premier tome de la série lorsque Magnus remet une invitation pour l'anniversaire de son chat à Isabelle. J'ai d'ailleurs beaucoup rit en lisant ce bonus...

Es una historia que me lleno de ternura y amor, vemos al pequeño Jace encontrar una familia. Además Jem recordando a Will.Es súper emocional sobre todo para los que ya han leído tanto TID y TMI.

Ich hatte während des Lesens durchgängig Gänsehaut, all die Gefühle für die Charaktere kamen zurück. Ich bin schon sehr gespannt auf die nächsten Teile.
