When I got the rice cooker, it came with a China to UK adapter but I was disappointed to find that the plug on the rice cooker did not fit this adapter. I purchased a few China to UK adapters from various shops but none fitted. I therefore contacted the seller for a refund and after exchanging a couple of emails, they asked if I would wait for them to send me an adapter that would fit. As the cost of returning this was so high, I reluctantly waited but could not use it for the event I purchased it for. Fortunately, their replacement adapter did work.The actual rice cooker comes with instructions in Chinese - not helpful so just had to work it all out myself. During my first cook, I did think there was a burning smell so was afraid to leave it alone. On the plus side, 20 cups of rice cooked in 30 minutes and the rice cooker then switched to warm. I was really happy until I realised that the cooker still seemed to be "cooking" the rice. I therefore lifted the inner pot out so that it would stop cooking. I suppose you could put it back once the cooker had cooled but the warming function is redundant. When I emptied the inner pot, rice was burnt onto the bottom - so next time, I will remove the inner pot immediately after it has stopped cooking.
