Very Good Spicy Hot Pot Base
This may be better than HaiDiLao, which is the gold standard of "spicy" hot-pot. The mala of sichuan pepper corns is the key. For those that are unfamiliar with how hot pot is prepared, spicy hot-pot base can be added to just water and it will be fine. If you wish, you can add it to chicken or beef broth, but the nature of the spicy hot-pot covers up most of that flavor. I usually use a 50/50 chicken broth and water hydration as a matter of taste.Hot pot is all about the ingredients you add to the simmer whether it's spicy or non-spicy. Very much like Vietnamese Pho, Asian vegetables like basil and bean sprouts are great. Thinly sliced chicken, beef, or peeled shrimp are good protein options for the western pallet.

It was easy to use, like an oil based soup, just add water. The flavor is like an overwhelming spicy, it wasn’t terrible, however, I don’t know if I’d choose it again.

It is alright
It is alright. Not my favorite spicy hot pot soup base. The flavor is kinda onenote and not complex. I like Premium Spicy Hot Pot Soup Base with Authentic Beef Tallow much better.

Very Good
We did an at home hot pot and used this as our spicy portion. It added a lot of good flavor and spicy but was not too spicy; just the right amount of kick. We will be buying some more of this one.
